There is a new tool launched by Chase, the new Pay Yourself Back tool, your Ultimate Rewards points are worth 25% more using Sapphire Preferred and 50% more using Sapphire Reserve.

You can now redeem them for statement credits against purchases in our current categories: grocery stores, dining (including restaurants, takeout, and eligible delivery services), and home improvement stores such as Home Depot and Lowes. You can take advantage of this promotion through September 30, 2020.

I tried to redeem for a small purchase to see how it works, its quite easy and works on Mobile App as well. Goto your Ultimate Rewards page and there is a new Menu option added

 

You will see all the eligible category purchases listed below with the oldest one on top. It shows only the purchases made in the past 90 days.

 

Just choose an eligible purchase, apply points for all or part of the purchase.

 

You should see the statement credit in 24-48 hrs. One more good news to note, if you make a purchase on the bonus categories like Grocery/SuperMarket , which is 5X until Jun 30th up to $1500 per card, you can still make the redemption on those and your points won’t be clawed back.
