Enroll now for Q1 2018 5% Categories for Chase Freedom Credit Card. Chase routinely features their regular Gas Stations, Restaurants, Movies, Travel, Amazon, Grocery etc., Starting 2018, they have added a new Purchase method, Mobile wallet purchases (Chase Pay, Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay) into their 5% cashback for Q1 2018.
I would not call that a new category though, as many purchases/categories would fall under that. Which is good news, now you can earn 5% in places wherever Mobile Wallet payments are accepted.
There is one other addition, Utility such as – Internet, cable TV and phone service merchants (including AT&T, Verizon, Spotify, Hulu and Netflix) into their Q1 2018 category
Apart from these, they have Gas Station added as well. So its exciting to see some new additions, but then hitting $1500 in purchases within a quarter would be a challenge for few, as not many merchants accept Mobile Wallets and Internet, Phone and Cable TV bills are not that huge.
To summarize their Q1 2018 5% categories
- Mobile wallet purchases (Chase Pay, Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay)
- Gas stations
- Internet, Cable TV and Phone service merchants.
